Make it anywhere

Terms

Last updated: 28 October 2026

These terms apply when you buy a screen on makeitanywhere.xyz. They are short on purpose. If anything is unclear, write to hello@makeitanywhere.xyz.

1. Who we are

Make it anywhere is run by Mattia Dimauro, Fehrbelliner Str. 47c, 10119 Berlin, Germany (see the Imprint).

2. What you buy

A screen in our virtual Times Square: a 3D city you can walk through in the browser. It is not the real Times Square, and we have nothing to do with the real buildings, their owners or the companies whose names appear on the city's own billboards.

When you buy a screen you get:

We make the billboard from your public website (name, logo, colours, text), with help from AI. You can preview it before you pay.

The live square needs a capable device. It is a 3D city drawn by the visitor's browser, so how it looks and runs depends on their device: on phones it shows a smaller, simpler part of the city, and some phones, older computers and browsers can't run it smoothly or at all. They get the video of the film and still pictures of the screens instead. We don't promise that any particular device, browser or visitor can see the live square, or see it smoothly.

3. Price and being outbid

You choose what you pay for a screen: at least €1 more than its current price (a screen nobody has bought costs €1), and at most €10,000 per purchase. The tower (One Times Square) always costs at least €1 more than the highest price anywhere on the square. The amount you confirm before paying is the final price, so check it: we don't refund an amount you didn't mean to pay.

You hold the screen until someone else pays more for it. Then it is theirs, straight away. Being outbid is how it works, not a reason for a refund: what you paid for is the takeover, the film and your page, and those stay yours.

As a bonus, the ten biggest bids outbid in the last 30 days are shown on the square's Hall of Fame screens. That is a bonus we may change, not something you buy.

4. Refunds

Payments are final. We don't refund for being outbid, for an amount you chose by mistake, for changing your mind, for how your ad, your film or the square look or perform, or because the live square doesn't run, or runs slowly, on some device or browser (see 2).

We refund what you paid only when the law requires it, in particular if we couldn't deliver (for example, someone paid as much a moment before you and got the screen), or if we take your ad down although it broke none of these terms.

Anything else we refund is a courtesy, at our discretion, and is what you paid minus the payment provider's fees. If you dispute a payment with your bank or card provider instead of writing to us, we may take your ad down and keep it down.

5. What may go on a screen

You may only put up a website or X profile that you own or are authorised to represent. Putting up someone else's company or profile without their permission is not allowed, and we take such ads down.

We don't show adult content, gambling, scams or fake investments, hate, illegal drugs, weapons, malware or piracy, or anything else that doesn't belong on a public billboard. We may refuse a website, and we may take down an ad at any time; if we take yours down although it broke none of these terms, we refund what you paid; if it broke them (for example, it wasn't yours to put up), we don't.

6. Your right of withdrawal

As a consumer in the EU you normally have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase. A screen is digital content that starts the moment you pay: your billboard goes live and your film is made right away. By paying, you ask us to start immediately and confirm that you know you lose your right of withdrawal once it has started (§ 356(5) BGB).

7. Your film and our site

Use your film however you like to promote yourself. The site may sometimes be slow or down, and we may change the square (move screens, add new ones), as long as what you paid for keeps working in substance. The 3D city is based on Slop New York by mrdoob.

8. Liability

We're responsible for damage we cause on purpose or through gross negligence, for any harm to life or health, and under the Product Liability Act: the law doesn't let anyone exclude that. For small mistakes, we're only liable if we break something essential to our deal, and only for the kind of damage you'd normally expect, at most what you paid us for the screen. We're not liable for lost profits or other indirect damage.

If your ad gets us into a legal dispute (for example because the website or brand isn't yours to advertise, or over someone else's trademark), you cover our reasonable costs, including legal fees.

9. The treasure hunt

Golden apples are hidden in the 3D city. Find one and you may put a website on one of the square's treasure boards for 6 hours, for free. It's a game, not a purchase: there's nothing to pay, nothing to refund and no film or company page with it, and you have no claim to a treasure, a board or a time slot.

One treasure ad at a time per person (and per internet connection). Everything in section 5 applies to treasure ads too: only a website you own or may promote, and we may refuse or remove any of them at any time. We may move, change, pause or end the hunt whenever we like.

10. Law and changes

German law applies. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live. We may update these terms for future purchases; the date at the top shows the latest version.
